Description: John Coleman is chair of the University’s Department of Political Science, where his teaching and research focus is on political parties, the politics of economic policy and changes in American politics across time. Barry Burden is associate chair of the department and his areas of specialization include electoral politics and representation. Together, Professors Burden and Coleman will analyze the November election, offer their perspectives and invite your commentary on the 2008 election cycle.

Featuring: The University of Wisconsin-Madison Concert Choir

Location: Tripp Commons, Memorial Union, Madison, WI

Description: Back by popular demand, the University’s Concert Choir will captivate you with its a cappella repertoire. Conducted by Beverly Taylor, the advanced-level, 50-member choir has recorded compact discs and premiered new works. The group also offers singing Valentines in February and will go on tour in Europe in March 2009. In addition to the concert choir, Professor Taylor conducts the 150-voice Choral Union and directs the graduate choral conducting program. She also is assistant conductor of the Madison Symphony Orchestra, director of the Symphony Chorus and a frequent guest conductor and lecturer at festivals throughout the U.S.
